Now, if I’d invested in one of these Photo Luggage Tags it would have been a different story. Personalised with a photograph of my choice, lettering of my choice, maybe something along the lines of ‘are you sure this is your suitcase…look again’…as I made a grab for several bright red suitcases that weren’t mine, realising at the last minute. Actually, I will admit to being able to remember watching the Apollo Moon landing, if I remember rightly, July 1969, aged 13, I was woken up to watch in on the TV in the early hours of the morning, when Neil Armstrong set foot in the Sea of Tranquility, left foot first, “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”, and I still have the newspaper cuttings from April 1961, Yuri Gagarin, the first human to journey into outer space, his craft completing an orbit of the Earth. On the last day of term, teachers pack their cars up with the gifts they receive from their students. Chocolates, bottles, flowers, plants – you can probably imagine that it gets a bit bland, even though of course they will always appreciate the gesture.

Autographs: If the class is moving up, or leaving, have all of the class write a message and sign their name, onto some sheets of A4 paper.
